An Investigation on the Translation Competence of Undergraduates of English Translation Majors in the Context of Autonomous Learning

With the acceleration of globalization and frequent international exchanges, translation industry has gradually become an important career field. In this context, training professionals are also becoming increasingly important. This paper uses students from Guizhou University Finance Economics as a sample to investigate study current situation professional ability in context autonomous learning. The collation analysis questionnaire summary test results show that overall competence undergraduate majors is not optimistic, mainly follows: low bilingual ability, lack vocabulary incoherence; Insufficient translate extralinguistic issues, especially cultural components; Lack expertise poor mastery; Single use tools; Translation no strategy so on. Of course, there students' reasons, such learning attitudes, external setting teaching courses. Based on research results, puts forward some suggestions how improve capabilities provide references for subsequent research.
